Investing in Herstory: National First Ladies Library & Museum Receives National Park Foundation Grant

The National First Ladies Library & Museum is proud to announce it has received a Collective Campaign Fundraising Infusion Grant from the National Park Foundation (NPF), the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service.
This funding is part of the Collective Campaign, a cornerstone of the broader Campaign for National Parks a nationwide effort to preserve, protect, and enhance America’s national parks for everyone, forever.
The one-time, flexible grant provides critical support for the National First Ladies Library & Museum as we continue to grow and deepen our impact at the First Ladies National Historic Site, a place where the legacies of America's First Ladies are honored and shared with visitors from across the country.
“With this generous support from the National Park Foundation, we are better positioned to strengthen our fundraising strategies, engage new audiences, and ensure long-term sustainability,” said David Lee, President & CEO of the National First Ladies Library & Museum. “It is an investment not only in our organization but in the community we serve and the important stories we tell.”
The grant will directly support enhancements in donor outreach, staff development, and capacity-building tools — all of which are essential as we prepare for increased visitation, expanded educational programming, and a deeper digital presence.
This grant is part of a collective effort among NPF, the National Park Friends Alliance, and more than 100 park partners across the country to raise $4.5 billion by 2028 in support of our national parks. The Campaign for National Parks is designed to meet evolving park needs through strategic investments in conservation, infrastructure, historic preservation, and visitor experiences.
“Together, we’re working to ensure places like the First Ladies National Historic Site are not only protected but thriving,” added Lee. “We’re honored to be part of this national movement.”
