OUR VISION AND MISSION
National First Ladies brings American history to life through the achievements, leadership, and lasting influence of our nation’s First Ladies. As the premier center for First Ladies research, education, and preservation, we safeguard their stories and share their powerful contributions with the world. In partnership with the National Park Service at the First Ladies National Historic Site, we inspire people of all ages to discover how these remarkable women shaped the presidency, transformed our nation, and influenced global history.
WHO WE ARE
National First Ladies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing the legacies of America’s First Ladies. Established in 2000 with the support of President Bill Clinton, we partner with the National Park Service at the First Ladies National Historic Site.
Our campus includes the historic Saxton-McKinley House—childhood home of First Lady Ida Saxton McKinley—First Ladies Park, museum galleries, a research library, Victorian theater, archives, event spaces, and gift shop.
Our archive preserves more than 5,000 First Ladies artifacts and over 1,000 books and scholarly works. As the world’s only site dedicated to the collective history and legacies of America’s First Ladies, we protect their stories and illuminate their lasting impact on our nation.
