Summer in the Park LOGO (1)

As communities across the nation begin commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, the National First Ladies Library & Museum invites residents and visitors alike to celebrate America’s story through a summer filled with history, community, wellness, creativity, and family fun.

The museum’s Summer in the Park series at First Ladies Park offers a variety of engaging programs designed to bring people together while honoring the people, places, and stories that have shaped our nation. As part of the broader America 250 celebration, the series provides opportunities for visitors to connect with American history in meaningful and memorable ways while exploring the lasting impact of America’s First Ladies.

This summer’s lineup includes:

In addition to these special programs, visitors are encouraged to explore one of Canton's most unique historic treasures through daily guided tours of the Ida Saxton McKinley House, the childhood home of First Lady Ida McKinley. Led by National Park Service Rangers, tours are offered every day the site is open at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.

These guided experiences provide visitors with a deeper understanding of the life and legacy of Ida McKinley, the evolving role of First Ladies throughout American history, and the importance of preserving our nation's historic places as we approach America's 250th birthday.

"America 250 gives us an opportunity to reflect on our nation's history and the people who helped shape it," said David Lee, President & CEO of the National First Ladies Library & Museum. "Through Summer in the Park, our educational programs, and our daily historic house tours, we invite the community to celebrate the American story, explore the contributions of our nation's First Ladies, and create new memories together right here in Canton."

Located in the heart of downtown Canton, the National First Ladies Library & Museum is the only museum in the nation dedicated exclusively to preserving and sharing the stories and contributions of America's First Ladies. Through exhibits, educational programs, special events, and historic site experiences, the organization continues to inspire visitors of all ages to engage with history, leadership, and civic life.
